Dear Membership,

After several years of falling participation and much discussion among the MACMA Officers and Board of Directors, it has been decided to merge our "Promotions" contest with the "Hot Ideas Breakfast", on a trial basis.

Please bring all of your great promotion ideas to share at breakfast, including any handouts that may be desired by others. We hope to have ample time to for everyone to share what has worked at their newspapers during the past year, in hopes it will work for the rest of us.

We’re looking forward to see you in beautiful Asheville, N.C., May 2-4!

It is that time of year that the Mid-Atlantic Circulation Managers Association hands out their annual awards. One of those awards is for Carrier of the Year.

Millions of papers are delivered each day. This miracle of efficiency is possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of our newspaper carriers. Whether it is rain, sleet, snow, or shine, newspaper carriers prove day end and day out that even nature won’t stop them from delivering the newspapers to your subscribers each day.

The MACMA 2008 Carrier of the Year contest is a great way to showcase the great carriers that you have. Take a moment and insure that this application gets in the hands of every carrier that you have. It will be a wonderful way to show them how much you appreciate all that they do. New for 2008, the Carrier of the Year winners in each division will receive a $100 prize and a gift basket from participating MACMA vendors.

Your newspaper belongs to an organization of newspapers from across the States of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia called the Mid Atlantic Circulation Managers Association. (MACMA) This organization conducts a newspaper carrier of the year contest that will choose a winner from entries provided by its member newspapers.
