Good news on this Good Friday

We have good news on this Good Friday

The deadline to reserve your hotel at the special MACMA rate of $129 has been extended to Thursday, March 31.  Rooms are filling up fast, so we don’t recommend waiting too long or you may get that noisy room right next to the ice machine.

Have you reserved your spot at MACMACon2016?

Please don’t wait. Your timely registration helps us plan accordingly. This means making sure the food,  seating and facilities are all adequate. It also helps us understand who is coming so we can tailor the Monday workshop series to fit your needs.

Have a Good Friday and holiday weekend.  Easter is the time to spread the joy and happiness that Christ has brought about into our lives, to everyone we meet. Wishing you and your loved ones a Meaningful Easter.

We’re looking forward to meeting you at MACMACon16 in April.

September MACMA Bulletin

By Robyn Ashley, MACMA President

I hope everyone is enjoying the first signs of Fall. Here is a quick update on what we’ve been working on this past month:

SymposiumLogoRegister for the Fall Symposium Oct. 23

Whether you work for a large corporation or an entrepreneurial family-owned newspaper–we all face similar industry challenges. We might share best-practices within our own companies, but rarely do we have the opportunity to learn from peers outside our organization. The Fall Symposium is a relaxed half-day idea-sharing session. This year, we’re holding the symposium at The Charlotte Observer in Charlotte, NC. The event is free to all MACMA members and includes lunch. Learn more and register here.

Mark your calendars: MACMA Conference 2016 Date and Location

The conference date is confirmed for Sunday, April 24 – Tuesday, April 26 in Greenville, SC at the Hilton Greenville. Please check back for more details of the conference line-up.

USPS Statement of Ownership Filing Deadline Approaching

A friendly reminder from our NCPA partner, Laura Nakoneczny: It’s getting close to that time of year again to file the statement of ownership for each of your periodical publications. It must be submitted to the Postal Service by October 1. This is a must-do item as if it is not submitted within 10 days of October 1, your periodical mailing privileges could be suspended until compliance is achieved.

National Newspaper Week materials now online

October 4 – 10 marks the 75th anniversary of National Newspaper Week. This year’s theme is “Power of the Press” and a tremendous package of editorials, cartoons, columns and graphics has been put together for you to download free of charge at nationalnewspaperweek.com thanks to the work of NAM (Newspaper Association Managers), and with financial support from various state newspaper associations.

See you at the Fall Symposium!
